A Note from the President

April 2020

Dear Colleagues…

Over the last two weeks, the MCMA has focused its efforts on setting up a fully virtual operation in the midst of the rapidly changing environment that we are all juggling, both personally and professionally. That has included addressing meetings that were on the books over the 60 days and establishing a new approach to continue to deliver on our mission.

In that time, the MCMA has:

  • Worked with event sites to postpone events through the end of May at no financial cost to the association.

  • Added a section of our website devoted to navigating COVID-19.

  • Increased the frequency of News of Note to weekly to be able to disseminate information more rapidly.

While these quick items were taking hold, our leadership has been in conversation and made the following decisions, working to balance health and safety with delivering value to our community.

  • All in-person events are canceled through the end of June.

  • MCMA Day is postponed until October.
  • Our programming committee is looking at ways to continue programming through the summer months.
  • The deadline for scholarship submissions has been extended through April 15. In addition, we are exploring the possibility of expanding the funding available for this year’s scholars.

There are some ways to get involved in the coming weeks and months….

  • Register for our April 14th webinar on marketing automation.

  • Send the MCMA resources that can help the community navigate through these changing times. Resources can be anything from white papers and fact sheets to tip sheets…or even recorded webinars. Send the materials to [email protected] and we’ll take care of the rest.

  • Consider joining our members-only community on Facebook and LinkedIn - it’s a great opportunity to connect with colleagues, get answers to pressing questions, and share ideas to help us all.

Please do not hesitate to email me in the meantime with any suggestions you might have about how we can support the MCMA community and you personally. I will continue to send these periodic messages with updates and encourage you to keep an eye out for updates in our weekly News of Note.

Best Wishes,

Jeff Hartford
